The members adored Mary and she enjoyed working in the lively atmosphere of a golf course.
Mary stood as the matriarch among her six brothers and was the center intelligence of her family, staying abreast of all the latest news and reporting to her extended family. Her weekends were booked, hosting sleepovers for her nieces and nephews, enjoying lunch with her siblings and tuning into every Chicago Bulls, Bears and Cubs game. She attended the 1985 Super Bowl and the 2016 World Series to witness her teams' awesome victories.
Mary loved hosting Christmas Day gatherings for her entire family, serving Vito and Nick's Pizza and a vast assortment of Fannie May chocolate. She also treasured annual Phelan Family reunions.
