Mary Tyson Reynolds, 85, of Eastover, NC passed away on February 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Sampson Co., NC on December 14, 1939, to the late Roy and Margaret Tyson. Mary was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Frank; brothers, Archie, Alton, and David; sisters, Elizabeth and Inez.
Mary grew up in Sampson Co., NC graduating from Clement High School. After high school she went on to attend Campbell College where she received her bachelor’s degree in Teaching. While teaching Mary met Frank on a blind date, whom she later married in 1964. Mary taught for 32 years at Montclair Elementary School where she found lifelong friends. She was a devoted Christian who loved spending time with her family. You would find Mary enjoying some of her pleasures which included traveling and shopping. Mary was also a stylish person who loved bright colors, matching jewelry, and her red lipstick. Mary was a beautiful soul, and she would always put others before herself. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Left to cherish Mary’s memory are her daughters, Sharon Phillips (Lee) and Frankie Thomas; grandsons, Tyson Phillips (Maxie) and Dawson Thomas all of Eastover, NC; brother, Roy Tyson, Jr. of Wilmington, NC.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 10-11:30am at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service. A funeral service will follow at 11:30am with Pastor Gary Strickland and Pastor Bailey Weeks officiating then conclude with the burial at Lafayette Memorial Park West at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Kingdom Place, P.O. Box 3771, Lumberton, NC 28358.
