Mary Dee Richmond-Simoneau, age 62, resident of Oakland, Tennessee and wife of Michael Simoneau, departed this life Wednesday morning, January 29, 2025 at her home.
Mary was born August 11, 1962, the sixth child and youngest of three daughters to loving parents, Walter Kinard Richmond and Mary Ola Richmond. Born in Tucson, Arizona, Mary spent some of her childhood in Bangor, Maine before the family settled in Eads, Tennessee. Mary attended George R. James School and was known as a happy girl, always quick to smile and to have fun while enjoying life.
After the passing of her parents, Mary left Tennessee to stay with her sister in California. She went to Grace Wright Middle School and West High School in Southern California where she was quick to make lifelong friends due to her outgoing personality. During this time, Mary excelled in arts and crafts classes, amazing her teachers with this natural gift she had.
This is also a time when she would meet Michael Lee Simoneau, who Mary calls the love of her life, eventually marrying him and sharing her life with him. Married to Michael in 1998, they shared life together until her journey in this life ended on January 29, 2025.
Mary was loved by everyone that knew her and her passing will leave a void in the lives of many. Indeed, Heaven has a new angel.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Richmond-Simoneau were held at 12:30 P.M. Monday, February 3, 2025 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Interment followed in Eads Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society, 5101 Wheelis Drive, Suite 100, Memphis, TN 38117.
