Mary Alice Roberts, 92, of Prescott Valley, died peacefully in her sleep on August 18, 2025, in Prescott, Arizona. She was born Mary Alice Wood on January 22, 1933, in Three Rivers, Michigan, to Lester and Edna Wood. She was raised in Akron, Indiana, with her brother and sister, Richard and Helen. In 1951, Mary graduated from Akron High School, where she sang in the choir, played clarinet in the band, and acted in the senior play. She married Frank Roberts on September 18, 1955, and they lived in Bremen, Indiana. They had one son, Richard J Roberts of Indianapolis, Indiana. Mary was a school cafeteria cook for 25 years. She was a member of Delta Theta Tau Philanthropic Sorority and the Marshall County Women's Chorus. Frank and Mary attended Riverside United Methodist Church in Bremen, where she was a song leader, a Sunday School teacher, and for several years the director of the vacation Bible school program. In 1994, Frank and Mary retired and moved to Prescott Valley, Arizona. They attended Prescott Valley United Methodist Church, where Mary was the choir director. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2015. Frank died in 2016. Throughout her life, Mary loved hosting dinners, club meetings, and other gatherings at her home, particularly Christmas parties. Frank and Mary traveled all over the nation, for many years in a pickup camper, and later on a motorcycle with a small trailer. Mary is succeeded by her sister, Helen Clark, and her son, Richard. A memorial service will be held at Prescott Valley United Methodist Church on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 11:00 am. A brief graveside service for both Frank and Mary will be held in Bremen, Indiana, in June 2026.
