Mary E Robinson

Mary Elizabeth Hanobik Robinson, 90, of Robinson Township, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 in Allegheny General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born on November 22, 1934 in Olean, New York, a daughter of the late John Edward and Mary Almena Darling Hanobik.
In her younger years, Mary was on her high schools rifle team and also worked as a candy striper. Mrs. Robinson was a retired credit manager for Sexton Food Company for many years. She was also a member of Union United Presbyterian Church. There was one reason why Mary lived such a long and full life, she was active. Mary never stopped, she always had somewhere to be, something going on or something to do. She loved being outdoors, gardening, biking, teaching swimming or simply taking a much deserved vacation. Mary loved working with her hands. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed quilting, knitting and crocheting. Mary was famous for the many bed spreads and rugs she had made over the years. When Mary wasn't canning or crafting she always had a book in her hand. There was never a book Mary read that she did not love.
She had an enormous heart and she shared a special relationship with so many people, making the loss of her incredible life such a difficult one. Her love lives on through all the personal crafts she had gifted over the years and all those important memories she has shared with her family and friends.
Surviving are her children, Debra (Quenton "Jess") Markel and Steven (Gloria) Robinson, grandchildren, Chad (Becca) Markel, Christopher (Catherine) Markel and Heather Markel, Shaun Robinson and Stephanie Robinson, great grandchildren, Xavier, Isaiah, Mackenzie, Xander and Evelyn, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Along with her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Negley "Neg" Robinson, and sister, Dorothy Cato.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at Noon at Union Presbyterian Church, 6165 Steubenville Pike, Pittsburgh.
