Mary C. Severin, 70, passed away on November 18, 2024, at the Linn Community Nursing Home.
A rosary service was held at 1 p.m., Thursday, November 21, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hanover, KS.
A funeral service followed at 2 p.m., at St. John's Catholic Church. Father David Metz officiated. Janet Fritschi was the organist and the hymns included "Come to Me," "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman," "Amazing Grace," "Song of Farewell" and "On Eagle's Wings."
Pallbearers were Mark Bruna, Tony Bruna, Jamie Schlesener, Mark Schlesener, and George Severin.
Burial was in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.
She was born on May 20, 1954, to Floyd and Ella (Miller) Severin in Marysville, KS. She attended school in Marysville and Hanover until the 8th grade. Mary worked for the Pony Express Museum in Marysville, helping out with whatever they needed. For many years, she also cleaned the Hanover Post Office.
Mary enjoyed doing many things such as playing Bingo, collecting earrings, completing paint-by-number kits, and playing noodle ball.
She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Preceding her in death is her parents.
Survivors include her brothers, George Severin, Hanover, and Fred (Terry) Severin, Abilene, KS; niece, Jamie (Mark) Schlesener; and great-nephew, Victor Schlesener.
A memorial fund has been established to Mary C. Severin Memorial Fund. Contributions may be sent in care of Hanover Mortuary c/o Kinsley Mortuary, PO Box 147, Marysville, KS 66508.
