Mary Jane Shelton born November 25,1946 to parents Edger and Hilda Holtz of Martinez, Texas. She gained her Angel Wings on August 25,2023. Mary Jane was married to the love of her life Roy S.J. Shelton on May 25, 1968 in Zuehl,Texas, but made San Antonio their home. They recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.
Mary Jane was a avid bowler for over 25 years participating in City, State and Women's National Tournaments all across the United States. Since 2006 Mary Jane has organized a large number of teams called "Paula's Angels" in Honor of her BEST FRIEND Paula Wright for City, State and Nationals Tournaments. Mary Jane was Honored to carry on the legacy of her friend throughout the bowling community and will be dearly missed by all her bowling friends. Mary Jane earned many City, State and National accolades for high games, singles and doubles, team and high series. She worked at Ponderosa Bowling Ally for over 20 years as League Coordinator, managing Youth Leagues as Junior Director and served as Secretary / Treasurer on many leagues. She once shared a story with us ladies about how she has done everything from the front of the house, to the back of the house, her words were " I've done it ALL". Some of the things Mary Jane loved the most was traveling with family and friends to tournaments while visiting city zoos along the way. She enjoyed scrapbooking and creating homemade cards for holidays and special occasions for family and friends.
Mary Jane is survived by husband Roy S.J. Shelton, brother in law Jimmy Shelton, brother in law Robert Shelton ( Ruth) along with numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by daughter Sandra R Shelton, Father and Mother Edger and Hilda Holtz, Father and Mother in law Charles W. and Congetta Shelton along with numerous nieces and nephews. In Lieu of flowers the family ask for any donations to be made in Honor of Mary Jane to the San Antonio Zoo.
Reception to follow after burial at Brookhill Baptist Church Hall located at 631 Utopia Lane in San Antonio, Texas. Food and drinks welcome.
