Mary Alice (Deming) Simmons was born on September 28, 1941, in Mexia, Texas, to Lilly Mae and Howard Deming. She was the oldest of five children and carried that role with strength, responsibility, and love.
At an early age, Mary accepted Christ into her life. She was a devoted and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Hamilton Park, where she served on Mission 11 and Usher Board No. 1 until her health began to decline. Her dedication to her church and her service to the Lord were central pillars of her life.
Mary was a hardworking and accomplished woman. She built a long and respected career, working 30 years at Texas Instruments (TI) and 17 years at Raytheon. Her work ethic, commitment, and determination earned her admiration wherever she went.
Mary met and married Jesse Lee Simmons, and together they raised four children: Sharon, Vance, Anjaynette, and Jason. Family was the joy of her life, and she poured love, guidance, and strength into every generation that followed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lilly Mae and Howard Deming; her brothers, Herman, Dave, and Richard; her sister, Dolly; her beloved husband, Jesse; her daughter, Anjaynette; her grandson, Rashad; and her stepdaughter, Patricia Manning (Tucson).
Mary leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Lavester Deming; her children, Sharon Stanfield, Jason Simmons, and Vance Simmons; her stepson, Jesse Simmons, Jr. (Tucson); and her grandchildren, Alexis, Bryce, Malia, Tara, Tiffany, Caressa, Sean, Roderick, Savannah, and Vance Jr.
Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Brandon, Pharoh, Cash, Alaia, Amelia, Jaylen, Roderick Jr., Miracle, and Kyomi; several nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins from the Fort Worth area.
Mary Alice Simmons will be remembered for her strength, her unwavering faith in God, her love for her family, and the many lives she touched throughout her journey.
