Mary Elizabeth Snider, 89, widow of Kenneth Gerald Snider, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2024, in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born in Lewisburg, Kentucky, on November 28, 1935, to the late Willie Tilton Irvin and Mary Tom Rollins Irvin. Mary worked as the accounts payable clerk for Kentucky Central Life Insurance Company for many years. She also attended Cornerstone Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, David Snider (Melissa); daughters, Jennifer Hickerson (Bob) and Leah Peterson (Robert); brother, William Irvin (Nancy); grandchildren, Wesley Snider (Amanda), Kendall Gabbard (Alex Jones), Hannah Vonschlutter (Jason), Matt Snider (Alicia), Erik Gabbard (Payton Gentry), Celeste Wethington (Josh), Daniel Snider (Kelsey Clifton), Ethan Snider (Abbie), and Celena Hickerson (Cody); as well as twelve great-grandchildren. She is preceded by her husband, Kenneth, and sisters, Dorothy Patterson, Agnes Cooper, and Lillie Wilson. Services will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, December 19, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Price officiating. Burial will follow at the Lexington Cemetery, where bearers will be Wesley Snider, Matt Snider, Erik Gabbard, Daniel Snider, Ethan Snider, and Ivan Moffly. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of service, Thursday, at the funeral home. Betts & West is honored to serve Mary and her family in their time of need.
