Mary Stipp Obituary

Published by Legacy on Apr. 17, 2025.
Mary Margaret Stipp, 90, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025.
Born in Neosho, Missouri, on October 19, 1934, to Jay and Margaret
Varndell, Mary grew up in Pineville and graduated from Pineville High
School in 1952. She began her career at the James Paul Law Office in
Pineville before moving to Joplin, where she worked as a secretary at
First National Bank. Through dedication and professionalism, she rose
to become the secretary to the bank's president, a position she held
with distinction until her retirement in 1997.
On May 8, 1972, Mary married the love of her life, Robert Stipp.
Together, they shared a love for dancing, caring for their yard and
pool, and doting on their beloved poodles. Mary was also a devoted
aunt and played an active, loving role in the lives of her three
nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, and her
younger brother JB Varndell.
Mary is lovingly remembered by her three nieces: Kathy Palen of
Springfield, Julie (Brian) Ollenburger of Joplin, and Rebecca (Jeremy)
Jester of Franklin, Tennessee; her sister-in-law, Mary Varndell of
Joplin; her great-nieces and nephews: Paige Puryear, Marcus (Mykelnn)
Puryear, Seth Palen, Neil Ollenburger, Logan Ollenburger, Noah Jester,
and Mary Margaret Jester; and one great-great-nephew, Bennett Puryear.
Mary's warmth, grace, and unwavering love for her family will be
deeply missed and forever cherished.
Graveside services are 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2025 at Pineville Cemetery in Pineville, Missouri with Pastor Marilyn O'Brien officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Parker Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.
