God said I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. So He sent an angel to come down for the end (Omega) of her earthly life, to begin (Alpha) her heavenly life, and He called Mary B. Tann to be with Him.

Mary B. Tann was born on April 22, 1932, to the late Maryland Edwards, Sr., and Lillie Bell Edwards in Duplin County, North Carolina. She departed this life on October 12, 2025, at the Family Touch Assisted Living Facility (under Gilchrist Hospice Care) in Baltimore, Maryland.

She received her formal education in the public schools of Duplin County, North Carolina. During these years, she joined Hills Chapel Baptist Church.

In May 1961, Mary was united in holy matrimony to the late Hezekiah Tann, where they had two children. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.

After moving to Baltimore, Maryland, she was employed by Baltimore City Public Schools for 30 years.

In 1962, she found her church home at The Metropolitan Baptist Church, where she served as a faithful member and Deaconess under the former pastor, Rev. Dr. Lawyer L. Swinson, and current pastor, Rev. Dr. Richard Dickens.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory: her daughters, Diana Tann and Anita Tann, of Baltimore, Maryland; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and friends who have become family.

Interment Cobb Cemetery, 327 Juniper Rd., Faison, NC 28341
