Mary L. Thul, 89 of 645 West Fifth Street, Mount Carmel, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, February 7, 2026 surrounded by her family at her home.
Born in Mount Carmel on April 5, 1936, she was a daughter of the late John and Theresa (Koronkiewicz) Snyder. She was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School.
Mary was a retired cigar wrapper having last been employed at the former General Cigar Factory in Mount Carmel.
On April 7, 1955 in the former Saint John the Baptist Church in Mount Carmel, she married Thomas J. Thul Sr. who preceded her in death on August 13, 2002.
Mary was a member of the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel as well as the Altar and Rosary Society of the parish.
Mary’s greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind her daughters, Susie Cimino, Ann Marie Tice, Theresa Bressi and Theresa’s husband, Ray, whose love, support, and care meant the world to her. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Matthew Cimino, Angela Cimino, Kelly (Bressi) Lesko, Stefanie (Bressi) Scott, Dean Tice, and Sierra Tice and by her eight great grandchildren, each one a bright spot in her life. Mary cherished every visit, every phone call, every milestone. Her family was her heart, and her love will continue to guide them.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and her husband were thirteen siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial and interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beaverdale were held privately. Joseph J. Stutz, Inc. Funeral Home, 40 South Market Street, Mount Carmel, Joseph J.
