Mary Sandra Tona

Mary Sandra Tona "La Tala", a kind and welcoming soul, gained her angel wings on October 5, 2023, in Tucson, AZ. She was born on March 1, 1957. Mary's departure has left a void in the hearts of her loved ones, but her legacy of warmth and compassion will live on forever.
Mary's life will be celebrated through a series of meaningful events. A Memorial Service will be held at Martinez Funeral Chapels - Tucson on October 27, 2023. The service will begin at 12:00 PM and conclude at 2:00 PM. Following this, there will be a Rosary at the same location from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM. An additional Celebration of Life will take place at Martinez North Chapel and Reception Hall from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. These gatherings aim to honor Mary's memory and provide comfort to those who mourn her loss.
Mary was cherished by her surviving family and friends. She leaves behind her beloved sons, Sal Martinez (Katrina Martinez) and Freddy Tona; granddaughters, Amira and Jayden Martinez and mother; Hortensia Martinez. Additionally, she is survived by her siblings, Frank "Chuco" Martinez, Katrina Ramirez, Patsy Romero, Joe Jauriqui and Bertha Fernandez. She will be missed and her soul will live on through nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by her father, Freddy Martinez; mother, and grandparents, Arturo and Dora Martinez.
Mary was a kind-hearted and humorous soul. She welcomed everyone she encountered, with open arms. She had a heart of gold and was always available when a shoulder was needed. She knew how to make an appearance in every room with her contagious smile and sonorous voice.
Remembered for her kindness and welcoming nature, Mary Sandra Tona touched the lives of many with her genuine love and care. She had the remarkable ability to make everyone around her feel valued and appreciated. Whether it was through her warm smile or comforting words, Mary had an unmatched gift for brightening up people's lives.
Mary will always be known for her unwavering dedication to her loved ones and the strong bonds she formed within her community. Her impact was immeasurable as she selflessly extended support to those in need. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion that inspires us all to spread love in our own lives.
