Mary Jane Welch, affectionately known by many names, Kissy Face, Harold, Yours Truly, Rip, and Mar passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025, after a brief but courageous battle with lung cancer. She was 65 years old.
Mary's life was defined by love, love for her family, her faith, her friends, and the many small joys that filled her days. She poured her heart into every person and every project she touched on. She never hesitated to give her time, energy, and attention to those she cared about, always putting others before herself. She was the most selfless and thoughtful person a woman whose warmth could fill a room and whose strength could steady those around her. She believed deeply in miracles and angels, a faith she shared through her thoughtful gift of angels to family, friends, and even acquaintances, gentle reminders of hope and protection. Her creativity and love for projects kept her hands and heart busy, always finding joy in making something beautiful for the people she loved.
Mary is survived by her loving son Christopher Welch and his wonderful girlfriend Lisa Lindman, and her strong and caring daughter Melissa Reddington and her amazing husband Matthew 'He's so Full of Shit' Reddington. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Dennis Welch, her "Huggy Bear," and her loving mother Mary Ann Melcher.
Mary's favorite saying was "I love you more," and those words will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved her most. She longed to return to Hawaii, the place she always said felt like paradise. Now, we know she has found her own version of Heaven, one that surely looks a lot like Hawaii warm, peaceful, and surrounded by endless beauty.
Mary's family finds peace in knowing that she and Dennis are together again, smiling down with immense pride and happiness. She would want those she loved to stay strong, hold close to one another, and continue living with the same love and faith that she carried every day.
She will be missed beyond words and remembered forever.
