Mary Alice Whitfield Ray, 91, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. She was born on September 24, 1932, to the late Mathis and Essie Mae Lee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Whitfield; daughter, Lynn Wilson; six brothers; and five sisters.
She was a member of House of Prayer Baptist Church for 37 years.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Rickey Whitfield (Beverly), Randy Whitfield (Karen), Jeffery Whitfield (Joanie); daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria Thomas (Mike), Diane Woodward (Mike); son-in-law, Timmy Wilson; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at House of Prayer.Baptist Church, 3840 Dews Pond Road, Calhoun, Georgia 30701.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 3:00 PM from House of Prayer Baptist Church with Bro. Daniel Brown and Bro. Steve Galloway officiating. Burial will follow in Gaines Cemetery. Mary’s grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
