Mary Ann Malinowski was born on April 7, 1940, in Stanley, WI, to Joseph and Rose (Wittek) Malinowski. She was raised on the family farm in the Town of Maplehurst, rural Withee, WI, where she attended Clark Grade School, and graduated from Owen-Withee High School in 1958. After completing high school, Mary Ann worked at Post Manufacturing in Owen, WI until she was united in marriage to Jerome L. Wnek on April 23, 1960 at St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Thorp. Together they farmed and raised their family until retiring in 1998. Mary Ann then went to work at Oakbrook Health & Rehab in Thorp, where she remained until 2012. She resided at home until entering Turner Integrity Care in February 2022.
Mary Ann was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig Catholic Church and its Parish Council of Catholic Women.
She had many interests, but especially enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, flowers, watching the Packers, Brewers, and Chicago Cubs, and garage sales. But most of all, Mary Ann loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary Ann is survived by her 4 children: Richard "Bubba" (Max) Wnek of Thorp, Terry (Lori) Wnek of Thorp, Tim (Lisa) Wnek of Amana, IA, and Debra (Todd Sheehan) of Chetek; 12 grandchildren: Jesse (Jessica) Wnek, Shawn (Terri) Wnek, Jeremy (Katie Marsolek) Wnek, Caitlin Wnek, Danielle Wnek, Brent (Taylor) Mason, Bryan Mason, Craig (Kelly) Mason, Arianna Mason, Bobbi Jo (Louie) Raffetto and Brynn (Michael) Holmes, and Amy Lorenz; 14 great-grandchildren: Ariana and Aleigh Kempf, Wyatt, Isabella, and Beau Wnek, Bradyn and Emree Wnek, Allison (Seth) Hause, Dominic Raffetto, Ella Holmes, Ellie, Rocklynn, Calvin, and Camden Mason. She is further survived by one sister: Josephine Czuba of Moline, IL; two brothers-in-law: Marion Wnek of Wittenberg, WI, and Jerry Kotlowski of Grand Marsh, WI; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerome, on October 25, 2015; and four sisters: Frances Bak, Stella Halida, Marcie Kotlowski, and Pat Albert.
Mary Ann's family would like to thank Turner Integrity Care and the staff at St. Croix Hospice for their comfort and support given to her.
