MARY ELLEN ZEMAN

 

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister due to Alzheimer disease, Mary Ellen Zeman on July 20, 2023 at 87 years of age.

Born in Akron to the late Goebel and Pauline Shultz, she was formerly a resident of Kent, Ohio most of her life.  She was a life- long member of the Gospel Assembly Church, took great pride in serving in the kitchen, nursery and as an usherette.    

Proceeded in death by her husband, Lewis and grandson, Nicholas Dennis. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Rebecca and (Karl) Barkey, Bonnie Dennis, Lewis III “Rick” and (Kimberly), Wayne and (Andrea); grandchildren, Matthew, Nichole, Lydia, Naomi, Jacob, Adam and Brittany; great grandchildren, Hannah, Tristan, Brynnley,  Lillian, Noah and Chance; sister, Carole Ann Gifford; and many other cherished relatives and friends.

She worked for the Kent City School system, as well at Happy Day School in Ravenna. She took care of her mother and mentally challenged brother for many years. Mary loved the Lord and she touched the lives of so many people, with her caring ways.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at Gospel Assembly Church, 2523 Wise Road, North Canton, the funeral will immediately follow visitation.  Pastor Richard Moore will officiate.  Interment will be at Restland Cemetery, in Brimfield.  For those wishing memorials may be made in Mary Ellen’s name to Haven of Rest or to Gospel Assembly Church.
