Mary Jane Ziskie, a beacon of warmth and love to all who knew her, passed away peacefully on the 24th of October, 2024, at her home in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Born on May 14, 1952, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, Mary Jane's life was a testament to the power of kindness, thoughtfulness, and unconditional love.
Mary Jane's journey through life was marked by her unwavering devotion to her family. She was the cherished wife of Michael Ziskie, with whom she shared a beautiful and enduring love. Together, they raised a family that was her pride and joy: her children Michele, Kathleen, James, and Thomas Ziskie. Mary Jane's heart swelled even more with the arrival of her grandchildren, Daniel Passalacqua, Lindsey, and Nathan Ziskie, who brought her immeasurable happiness.
Her family circle extended to her dear brother, James Bourdeau, and a close-knit group of in-laws who she embraced as her own: Mary (James) Meesmeepan, William (Karen) Ziskie, James (Lisa) Ziskie, David (Wendy) Ziskie, Karen (Paul) Harris, and Rebecca (Chad) Nehra. Together, they formed an unbreakable bond, supporting each other through life's many ups and downs, and celebrating its countless joys. She is preceded in death by her parents Mary & Frank Bordeau and brother in law Robert.
Mary Jane's passions in life were simple yet profound. She was an amazing cook, renowned for her best-in-town apple pie and the unforgettable blueberry Jello mold that graced the family table at every gathering. Her culinary talents were a vehicle for her love, providing comfort and joy to both family and friends.
An avid shopper, Mary Jane found pleasure in the hunt for the perfect gift or the ideal addition to her home. She had a unique talent for finding treasures in the most unexpected places, and her sense of style was evident in everything she did. But above all, Mary Jane loved spending time with her grandchildren. Each moment with them was precious, filled with laughter, learning, and love.
Mary Jane's character was the foundation upon which her life was built. Described by those who knew her as kind, thoughtful, and loving, she navigated life's challenges with grace and a positive spirit that was truly inspiring. Her compassionate nature extended beyond her family, touching the lives of friends and strangers alike. Mary Jane's smile, her gentle words of encouragement, and her willingness to lend an ear or a helping hand were gifts that enriched the lives of everyone around her.
As we say goodbye to Mary Jane Ziskie, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and joy.
