Richard Edward Endlich
1930 - 2025
Richard E. Endlich, 95, of Eastpointe, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 22, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving family as he entered eternal rest to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born Richard Edward Endlich on November 15, 1930, in Detroit, he was dedicated son to his parents the late Emil and Anna (Foster) Endlich.
Richard was a man of remarkable spirit and ingenuity. He was the proud owner and operator of his own meat distribution business, where he fostered deep relationships with his customers, treating them not just as clients, but as extended family. Known for his exceptional skills, Richard could truly create and fix anything with his hands and mind - a testament to his resourcefulness.
Outside of his work, Richard embraced life fully. He found joy in the outdoors, spending time fishing, hunting, and tirelessly working on his cottage. He was an adventurous spirit, traveling extensively to Europe, Asia, and North Africa, and a lifelong scholar, evidenced by the thousands of books and magazines he read. Richard cherished moments spent hosting a good party with his wife Margaret, savoring a great steak, and creating lasting memories with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by Margaret (Gillespie) Endlich, his beloved wife, and his great-grandson, Jack Endlich.
Richard's memory will be cherished by his devoted sons, Cary Endlich (Suzanne Treppa), and Dean Endlich (Lynne Stolzenfeld); his grandchildren, Eric Endlich (Ashley), Megan Endlich (Michael), Andrew Endlich, and Aaron Endlich (Kara); and his great-grandchildren, Luke Endlich and Archer Endlich.
Visitation Friends may call on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Chas. Verheyden, Inc., 43300 Garfield Rd, Clinton Township, Michigan 48038.
Funeral Service Richard will lie in state at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 23000 Gratiot Avenue, Eastpointe.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 23000 Gratiot Avenue, Eastpointe, MI 48021 - (586) 777-6300.

Dave & I met Richard in 1998 when we moved in across the street. I found out he knew my grandparents. He dated my step-grandmother, Flo, for many years and we shared birthdays and holidays. We also went to the same church and our street had annual block parties. He was family to me. So smart, talented, and determined to stay active and independent. His stories were fascinating, he had a sharp wit and loved a good Manhattan. I loved him a lot and will miss him.
