Paul Williams Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Chas. Verheyden, Inc. Funeral Home & Cremation Service - Clinton Township on Jan. 11, 2026.
Paul Hugh Williams, of Macomb, age 76, passed to his heavenly home on Friday, January 9, 2026. He was born in London, Ontario, Canada on July 14, 1949, to Rev. Richard and Margaret M. Williams. Loving husband of 38 years to Nancy A. Williams, father to Rebecca Hackler-Redwick (Brian), Sarah Frey (Rick), and grandfather of Charles and Ashton Hackler, Jayden and Jesse Frey. He is further survived by his brother Richard Malcolm "Mac" (Mardi) Williams.
Raised in Mt. Clemens, he graduated from Mt. Clemens High School. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting with friends in the suburbs. Later, he attended Oakland University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. He then proceeded to Wayne State University and graduated with a master's degree in urban planning.
For 32 years, he worked for the U.S. Army at the Tank Arsenal Command in Warren, MI, as a procurement and production specialist. He also served on many boards and was honored with numerous awards for his steady commitment and dedication.
Paul met Nancy while attending a social event through Knox Presbyterian church in Harrison Township. The couple continued to attend Knox, and he became an active member involved in the church, served as an elder for many years, as well as on the mission board. Paul enjoyed singing in the choir.
He loved his destination trip up north to Glen Lake, where he vacationed with friends and found happiness in the beauty of the area. He also took pleasure in yearly trips to Mackinac Island with his wife, Nancy. The two of them looked forward to trips on cruises as well as traveling to different states and seeing many beautiful sites. These are pleasurable moments that will always be connected to him and will be pictures that hang in our memory.
Throughout the years, he shared many wonderful memories with family, friends, and close neighbors. He liked working and maintaining his yard. Paul and Nancy would walk quite often and were known as "The Walkers". Their favorite places were Dodge Park and Stoney Creek.
A gathering will take place on Saturday, January 24th from 9:30 am until the time of his Memorial service at 11am at Knox Presbyterian Church, 25700 Crocker, Harrison Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Knox Presbyterian Church, 25700 Crocker, Harrison Township.
