Obituary of Mathew M. Carriero
Matthew Martin Carriero
With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Matthew Martin Carriero, who died unexpectedly in his home in Trumbull, Connecticut, on June 29, 2025.
Matthew was the beloved son of James Robert Carriero and the late Cynthia Jo "Cindy" (nee Lutson) Carriero of Trumbull.
Matthew was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on February 7, 1989. He lived in Milford, attended Milford schools, and after high school, he served his country in the U.S. Army. He moved with his family to Trumbull and lived there until his passing. Matthew will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, cooking, and enjoyment in spending time with his family.
In the Army, Matthew was assigned to 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment ("Tomahawks"), 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. Matthew's awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Army Service Ribbon.
Matthew was predeceased by his loving mother, Cynthia Carriero, and younger brother, Nicholas James Carriero.
Left to honor his memory are his devoted father, James Carriero, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, all of whom will carry forward his memory.
Friends are invited to attend the public visitation on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a prayer service at 11:00 AM. The visitation and service will be held at Lesko Funeral Home, located at 1209 Post Road, Fairfield, Connecticut. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, 855 Boston Avenue, Bridgeport, Connecticut. For travel directions or to sign Matthew's online guest register, please visit www.LeskoFuneralHome.com.
