Mathew Jason Gerry

Mathew J. Gerry, 44, husband of Rachael (Gostyla) Gerry, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Midstate Medical Hospital after a short illness. Born in Meriden, CT on November 14, 1980, he was the son of Mathew A. Gerry of Burnham, ME and Astrida Gerry of Meriden, CT. He had resided in Cheshire CT and graduated from Platt High School.
Besides his wife Rachael of 30 years, he is survived by his sister, Andrea K. Disereits; his brother Adam Gerry and his chosen siblings, Luis A. Gonzalez and Peggy Cacio. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other special family members, Bernadette Rioux and her husband Eugenio Zanquis; his nephews Clifford Rioux and his wife Erin, and Kevin and Joshua Gostyla and his niece Kristin Stein. He was predeceased by his eldest brother Stephen Disereits and his beloved nephew, Anthony Michael Gonzalez.
Mathew has extended cousins, uncles, and aunts who will miss him dearly. For anyone who was blessed to have known Mathew will forever remember his humor and sharp sarcasm. His love for agriculture and the outdoors was his true passion.
A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date. Should friends desire, contributions in his memory may be made to John J. Ferry Funeral Home or planting a tree in his name.
