Wayne Gerry

October 29, 1956 - January 21, 2026

Wayne lived a life marked by kindness, humor and an unwavering dedication to helping others learn and grow. He wore many hats throughout his life - he would say due to his lack of hair caused by being a father: from working in a prison, to real estate agent, to leading outdoor adventures, teaching in the classroom, and coaching on the field. He was loved by all and had the most fun when he was surrounded by people telling stories whether they were entirely true or just a little (a lot) embellished. He had the most joyous laugh and could light up an entire room with his stories or clear it out with his natural gas.

A well-read traveler with a background as an Eagle Scout equipped him as he navigated all 50 states, many international travels, the Colorado Trail and multi day mountain bike and backpacking trips. His faithful and furry companions Buddy, Sadie and Woofie accompanied him on walks, four wheel drive adventures and many camping trips.

Wayne was the heart of his family- a steady presence, a thoughtful listener, and a source of endless laughter. He found joy in life's simple moments: a good story, time outdoors and sharing chips and salsa with the people he loved the most.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine Gerry, and his daughters and son-in-law, Meghan & Joey Vogel and Kelcie Gerry along with his siblings Glenn Gerry, Sheila Pinette, Karen Thomhave, and Keith Gerry. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Cecille and William Gerry, his sister Debra Rausch, and his nephews Christian and Matt. He is also lovingly remembered by his cousins, siblings, nieces and nephews all of whom will carry forward his warmth, humor, and lifelong love of learning.
