MATILDA FRANCIS "DOLLY" NICHOLSON

Matilda Francis "Dolly" Nicholson Matilda Francis "Dolly" Nicholson, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 16, 2010 with her family at her side.

She was born August 17, 1935 in Flint Hill, VA. She was the daughter of the late George Ashby and Ina Brown Smoot. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Otis Nicholson.

She is survived by her children, Dolly Anne and Herbert Cooper of Rileyville, VA, James Ashby Nicholson of Fluvanna, VA., Doris and Charles Thomas of Sperryville, VA., Ronnie and Kim Nicholson of Chester Gap, VA., and Pricilla and James Keys of Leon, VA. Also, she raised her nephew, Bobby L. Smoot of Sperryville, VA., and her niece, Bonnie Smoot Keys of Leon, VA. In addition, she has numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She is also survived by a sister, Madeline Smoot and a brother, David Smoot both of Front Royal, VA.

Mrs. Nicholson was a member of Fellowship Assembly of God Church since March 7, 1982.

Her service will be conducted at Fellowship Assembly of God Church on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at 11 am with the Rev. Joel L. Cress officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Masonic Cemetery in Washington, VA.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Herbert Cooper III, Andrew Scott Keys, John Thomas Keys III, David Davis, Charles Thomas, James Keys III, Ronald Lee Nicholson III and Billy Ray Johnson Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Keys, represented by his son, Michael David Keys, Jr. and Wesley Keys.

Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.
