On March 19, 2022, Heaven received our son, Matthew Aldridge. He is dancing in heaven, in the arms of our Heavenly Father, feeling no more pain.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Pastor Landon Henry, senior pastor at San Angelo First Assembly, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Matthew was born on October 29, 1998 in San Angelo. He was a gift and a blessing to us all and his beautiful blue eyes drew many a person in. There is no question or doubt surrounding God's purpose for Matthew. He touched so many lives in a positive way and we look forward to seeing the fruits that come from those who knew him.
Thank you to all who cared for Matthew, especially the extensive family support system in place that made it possible to take care of his needs at a moment's notice. We are grateful for the many amazing home health nurses and attendants, and medical staff along the way that took such great care of him when he was at home, in the hospital or in the nursing home. Truly God's angels!!! One of those nurses is now super happy to see him again, Violet Mittel, whom we called Matthew's 2nd grandmother. While we mourn the loss of our beautiful and sweet Matthew, we know that he is healthy and healed in the arms of Jesus. May we all sing praises to God- God is good.
Matthew was proceeded in death by his grandfather, Alton "Cotton" Fisher and grandmother, Martha Gully.
He is survived by his mother, Darla Avila and stepfather, Mike; his father, Chris Aldridge and stepmother Holly; his grandmother, Flo Fisher Knight; his grandparents, Alfredo and Martha Avila and Robert and Sally Aldridge; his grandfather, Ken Gully; his four brothers, Layne Aldridge, Brandon Avila, Jacob Avila, and Jason Avila; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

I came across this tonight as I was looking for an obit of a friend. What a beautifully written obit and what a joy to see how much love you had for this beautiful boy and your christian belief is such a testimony for those who need hope. God bless you as you continue on your journey of life. Barb from GA
