Matthew Day Obituary
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at two o'clock p.m., Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Bethcar Baptist Church Cemetery, 950 Bethcar Church Rd., Wagener, SC 29164 with the Reverend Joseph Sanders officiating. The family will receive friends from one-thirty p.m. until the time of the service at the cemetery on Thursday.
Born in Aiken County, SC, he was a son of Gladys Waters Day and the late James Day. He enjoyed working outdoors where he loved to cut grass and cut wood with his chainsaw.
Survivors include his mother, Gladys Day of the home; his sisters, Sara Rushton of Leesville, SC and Helen (Anthony) Bouknight of Gilbert, SC along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry James Day and his brother-in-law, Jimmie Rushton.
