Obituary
Matthew Stefan Gilman, 35, of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday April 25th, 2023,surrounded by his loved ones.
Matthew was born on December 13th, 1987, in Washington D.C. Matthew spent early childhood years in Havre de Grace, Maryland. He spent his later school years and adult life in the Baltimore area. In middle and high school Matthew was an athlete participating in basketball, baseball and football. He graduated high school from W.E.B. Du Bois in 2005.
He survived by his father Steven Cornell Wooden, Sr. and his mother Lisa Robin Gilman; his brother Steven Wooden Jr; his sister Stephanie Wooden, His sister Makayla Farley and brother Michael Farley Jr. He survived by many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He was an uncle to Sebastian & Amani Wooden.
Matthew was a talented barber working in Glen Burnie for the past 10 years. He was very passionate about his career and made many friends no matter where he was. Matthew owned his own barber shop on Crain Hwy. He was very passionate about the designing and decor of his shop. It was one of his proudest accomplishments Matthew was known as a respectful, outgoing, all around person. He had a huge heart and would protect anyone he cared for. A smile and a joke for everyone. He loved his family, friends and loved ones including his dog Tango. Matthew loved to travel. He loved sports including football, basketball and boxing. Matthew was a 49ers fan until the coming of the Baltimore Ravens. He continued on as a loyal Ravens fan. He was dedicated and very passionate about making music and rapping, spending time in the studio recording music. His presence was always felt whenever he walked in the room. His absence will be felt even more.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A., 1 2nd Avenue, S.W. (at Crain Hwy), in Glen Burnie, on Friday, May 5th, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 6th, at 2 PM, in the funeral home chapel.
