Matthew was a junior at Carl Sandburg High School and a proud owner, alongside his brother, Michael, of Greenfield Lawn Care. He was a young man who radiated joy and selflessness, caring deeply about the happiness of those around him. Known for his resilience and generosity, Matthew's positivity was contagious-you would never hear him complaining. He was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back, never wanting anything in return.
Matthew found peace and purpose in nurturing life and creating beauty for others to enjoy. He had a passion for cooking and was mom's right hand in the kitchen-always willing and excited to help. Matthew wouldn't hurt a fly, and everything he did was genuine and pure, coming straight from the bottom of his heart.
Matthew would help anyone at a moment's notice, never backing down. He was truly everyone's best friend and favorite person. Gone far too soon, Matthew's light continues to shine brightly through all who loved him - leaving a legacy of love, kindness, and light that will never fade. His memory will live in our hearts forever.
Visitation will be held Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home, 9000 W. 151st Street, Orland Park, IL, with a walk-through by the Orland Fire Protection District at 6 p.m. Funeral services will follow Saturday at 9:30 a.m., proceeding to St. Francis of Assisi Church for a 10:30 a.m. Mass. A live stream link will be available just prior to the Mass.
