Matthew Joseph Harrison, 42, passed away in Salt Lake City on January 23, 2024. He was born in Layton, Utah on November 18, 1981, to William and Lori (Higgs) Harrison.
Matthew enjoyed and was gifted at drawing. In his earlier years he excelled in soccer and enjoyed playing. He graduated from Layton High School in 2000. He participated in the Boy Scouts of America and earned the Eagle Scout Award. He married his wife, Katie, for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake temple on June 6, 2015.
Matthew found joy spending time with his family. He loved to tease his children and joke with them. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was loved for his friendly and kind manner toward all he met.
Matthew is survived by his wife, Katie, and his children, Kylie, Bailey, Maddie, Brittney, Allie, Logan and Tyler. He is also survived by his parents, his brothers Juston and Billy, and his grandmothers, Elizabeth Harrison and Barbara Higgs.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 29, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1954 E. Antelope Dr., Layton. Friends may visit with family prior to services from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the church. His interment will be at the Lindquist Cemetery in Layton.
