Heggan, Matthew R. – of Clio, age 38, passed away Friday, July 14, 2023. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. A private Celebration of life will take place. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Morris Community Church.
Matthew was born March 23, 1985, in Flint, Michigan, to David and Debi (Crain) Heggan. He attended Clio High School, graduating with the class of 2003. After that Matthew went to Saginaw Valley State University to pursue his bachelor's degree accompanied with two minors. He worked for Dow Chemical Company as the Global label leader for 10 years. Matthew was most proud to work with his dad as an electrical apprentice for Eagle Express Electric. He was a member of the Mt. Morris Community Church; Matthew was a man of Faith and loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whom he is now with in heaven. While attending SVSU he was head of the Chemistry Club for 3 years. He enjoyed playing tennis, fishing, and camping with family. He was known as the family photographer and loved taking pictures. Matthew enjoyed spending time with family in conversation. He was very loving, kind and compassionate. More than anything he was an amazing son, brother and uncle who will be dearly missed by many.
Surviving are: Parents, David (Debi) Heggan; Sister, Michelle (Ambrose Steffey) Heggan; Nephew, Chip; foster brother Joey McCollum, his wife Courtney and their two children Madeline and Eliott; Grandma, Jewell Mariott; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
