Matthew Holohan

Matthew J. Holohan, a beacon of steadfast love and unwavering faith, passed peacefully at home next to his wife on June 19, 2024, at the age of 90.
Matthew was born to Joseph and Bridget Holohan in New York, New York, in 1934. Settling in Ewing, New Jersey, with his cherished wife, Barbara Rafferty Holohan, Matthew became a stalwart member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, living his Catholic faith through both word and deed. Matthew was a graduate of Pace University where he received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees. After graduation, he embarked on a long career in his private account practice.
In addition to his parents, Matthew was predeceased by his brother, Joseph. He leaves behind his son, John Holohan; sister-in-law, Elaine Rafferty; grandchildren Oliver and Lucy; nieces and nephews Michele (Joseph) Guerino, Cynthia Rafferty, Michael Rafferty, and Devin (Katherine) Rafferty, Dana Rafferty ; and great nieces and nephews Sofia and Eva Guerino and Peyton, Conor, and Ethan Rafferty.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024 from 9:00AM - 10:00AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 137 W Upper Ferry Rd, Ewing, NJ 08628. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00AM followed by entombment at Ewing Church Cemetery, Ewing, NJ.
