Matthew W Jaster from Lake Park Mn was born March 1st, 1959 in Detroit Lakes Mn to Reuben J. and Rita (Barta) Jaster. Matt attended grade school in Callaway Mn and Graduated in 1977 from Detroit Lakes Public High school. Right after graduating high school Matt joined the United States Army and had been stationed in Texas, Germany, Oklahoma and Georgia, where he worked for the transportation division as a mechanic and driving trucks. During Matt’s military career he had gotten married and had one son Matthew II.
Matt left his military career and moved to Lake Park Mn where he went to work in Fargo as a diesel mechanic. In 2001 he worked for Buehler Welding Co of Fargo ND as a welder. In 2018 he started working as a welder for Accessories Unlimited of Lake Park Mn until Nov 2021.
Matt was a very accomplished square dancer and country dancer. He loved country music, enjoyed watching all types of movies, enjoyed reading different bibles and he was very strong in his faith in Our Lord and Savior and loved his family very much.
Matt is survived by his son Matthew II (Sarah) of Spring Grove VA, sisters Leda Franklin and DeeAnna Brockway of Callaway Mn, brother Kyle (Tina) Jaster Detroit Lakes Mn and sister Anita (Bruce) Coons EauClaire Wis. He is survived by Nephews Wesley (Shae), Benjamin (Valla O’Loughlin), Henry (Brooke Sworski) Dayton (Briana), Jory and Neil, and Niece Ciera (Jacob Schmidt). Also survived by several great nephews and great nieces.
Matt was preceded in death by his parents Reuben Jr and Rita, older brother Tim, paternal grandparents Reuben Sr and Mamie Jaster, maternal grandparents Wesley and Grace Barta and brother-in-law Bruce Franklin.
