Matthew Quirk Obituary

Born, November 19, 1953, in Montour Falls, NY, he was the son of the late William Fredrick Quirk and Carolyn Franzese Quirk.
Matt graduated from FD Roosevelt in Hyde Park, NY. He was an avid sports enthusiast, who relished in his time he spent playing sports in high school with many of his good friends. He played Varsity Football, Varsity Basketball, Long distance running and Track (where he held the record for one mile run). He is currently a lifetime member of the Pirate Canoe Club.
He owned and operated Quirk Trucking, making friends with many of those who he helped for many years. His beautiful smile and baby blue eyes were well known across three counties as he drove his yellow and blue Kenworth dump truck throughout the area, until his illness forced him to slow down.
He is survived by his son Justin Quirk, four siblings, Mark Quirk, Lynn Doyle and partner Tim Dalbo, Tammy Quirk, and Patricia Lysenko and husband Dean.
He is also survived by his nieces and nephews which he shared a special bond with; Melissa Doris, Jeremiah Quirk, Daniel Doyle, Samantha Hover, William Doyle, and Billy Lysenko.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4PM, and 7 to 9 PM, on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Sweet's Funeral Home, 4365 Albany Post Rd., Hyde Park, NY 12538.
A Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 20, 2023 at Sweet's Funeral Home, 4365 Albany Post Rd., Hyde Park, NY 12538.
Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Hyde Park, NY.

Keep on smiling´.......Matt always made me laugh. He was always so happy! He helped me out of that " dark hole" many times....Such a special guy. I miss his hugs that always made me feel better.

I had a problem with my road along Samantha Lane and Matt was kind enough to take a look at it and with his busy schedule was willing to take time out to help me fix it. One conversation we had was about his visit to Graceland and the time I told him when I passed I would like to be buried on my property and he offered to dig the hole. More recently in October I was digging a hole and I asked if he had some dynamite. On a more sober note he revealed at this time about his condition and I stepped up to the cab and he let me pray and lay hands on him. I hadn't seen him in some time and noticed his big yellow truck parked along 9G. I am praying Jesus's peace on the Quirk family and the lifting of your sorrow.
