Matthew T. Reardon, 52, of Genoa, NE passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 27, 2024, at his home near St. Edward, NE.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at St. Edward Catholic Church in St. Edward, NE with Rev. Mark Tomasiewicz and Deacon Harlan Long officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday at the church, with a 7:00 p.m. wake service.

Matthew Thomas Reardon, son of Thomas F. and Deanna M. (Werner) Reardon was born on October 22, 1971, in Albion, NE. He was baptized at St. Edward Catholic Church on October 31, 1971, and received the sacrament of confirmation on April 16, 1985. Matt attended District 83, also known as Bunker Hill, through the eighth grade. He then went to St. Edward Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1990. Throughout high school Matt was not able to play sports due to his heart condition. However, he was allowed to play football his senior year alongside three of his brothers.
On September 2, 1998, Matt was united in marriage to Shanna Nieman at St. Edward Catholic Church. The couple made their home on Matt's great-great grandparent's farm near Genoa, NE. From this union Matt was blessed with one son. Matt worked at Lindsay Manufacturing and farmed with his dad and brothers at MBD Farms.
Matt was a lifelong member of the St. Edward Catholic Church parish. He enjoyed watching tv especially Friends and Superman. Matt was a good friend to many and loved spending time with his large family.
Matt is survived by his son: Nick Reardon of Genoa, NE; parents: Tom and Deanna Reardon of Genoa, NE; four brothers: Marc (Torrie) Reardon of St. Edward, NE; Ben Reardon of St. Edward, NE; Bob (Mindi) Reardon of Genoa, NE; Dan (Nichole) Reardon of St. Edward, NE; two sisters: Marianne (Phil) Osantowski of St. Edward, NE; Teresa (Bob) Mahood of Atkinson, NE; 15 nieces and nephews; along with aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Barney and Florence Reardon; Leo and Georgetta Werner; niece: Kinley Colette Fritzges.
