Matthew E. Semling

Matthew E. Semling, 65, of Merrill, passed away Monday, May 22, 2023, at Aspirus Merrill Hospital.
Matt was born March 29, 1958, in Merrill, son of the late Donald and June (Germain) Semling. He graduated from Merrill High School with the class of 1976. Matt married Sarah Wold on October 31, 2003, in Merrill. She survives. Matt had worked for many years as the delivery driver for Johnson Pharmacy, Merrill. Matt was an avid golfer and loved watching golf. He was also a Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed many trips to Lambeau Field. Matt liked listening to the Beatles and was a Sci-Fi buff. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed the company of his three cats, Charlie, Pearl, and Sweetie.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Semling of Merrill; mother-in-law, Lois Wold of Merrill; sisters, Donna Hertel of Merrill, Sara Semling (Tom Horsley) of Sister Bay, WI, and Connie Semling (Lee Patnode) of Wausau; brothers, Steve (Sharon) Semling of Whitestown, IN, Andy (Renee) Semling of Merrill, and Dave (Peggy) Semling of Burnsville, MN; sisters-in-law, Sandy (Mike) Prain of Gleason and Donna Frisch of Merrill; and several nieces and nephews. Matt was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and June Semling; brother, Daniel Semling; father-in-law, Donald Wold; and brother-in-law, John Frisch.
The memorial visitation for Matt will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M., Noon, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Private inurnment will take place in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Matt's name may be made to the Lincoln County Humane Society.
