Matthew Christian Stull, born on the 27th of August 1980 in Coon Rapids, MN, lived a life that was as boundless as the skies he loved to explore. His journey on this earth may have concluded on the 17th of January 2025 in Zimmerman, MN, but the legacy of his indomitable spirit remains an inspiration to all who knew him. Matthew's life was a testament to the power of optimism and the pursuit of dreams, as he bravely faced cancer with the same courage that characterized his entire existence.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Matthew were touched by his innate kindness and his unwavering positive outlook. He was a beacon of hope, lighting the way for others with his infectious enthusiasm for life. His love for his family and friends was as vast as the oceans he traversed, and his laughter was a melody that resonated in the hearts of many. Matthew's passion for movies and his adoration for "The Golden Girls" were sources of joy and comfort, not only to him but also to those he shared these pleasures with.
Matthew's professional life was as fulfilling as his personal one. He achieved his dream job with Alaska Airlines, a role that not only satisfied his professional aspirations but also fueled his love for travel. His work allowed him to spread his wings and soar to new heights, experiencing cultures and creating memories in every corner of the globe. Matthew's association with his colleagues and the airline community was not merely a job; it was a chapter in his book of life that he wrote with pride and dedication.
He leaves behind a tapestry of relationships, woven with love and mutual respect. Matthew's mother, Vicky Anderson, along with his bonus father Tom Gow, remains a pillar of strength, reflecting the values that she instilled in her son. His sisters, Kanada Yazbek and Kacey Anderson, along with their respective partners, John Hartman and Jacob Rosendahl, will forever cherish the bond they shared with their brother. Terry Davidson, his brother, along with Terry's wife Betsy, will continue to honor Matthew's memory in their hearts. His nieces and nephews, Trestian, Teaghen, Evarleigh, Alex (Milly), Cameron, Lauren (Arika), Jordan (Megan), Ben, Hannah, Sarah, and Sam, have been blessed with countless stories of Uncle Matthew's adventures and his enduring love.
Also survived by Godparents, Tom Anderson and Connie Dennis.
Matthew's departure was preceded by his father, Leland Stull, and his grandparents, Ronald and Florance Stull, Barbara and Tom Anderson. His spirit reunites with them in a realm beyond our own, his journey continuing in a place where the skies are endless, and the stars shine the brightest. His friend Jesse Riggs, along with so many others whose lives he touched, will carry forward the light of his friendship.
Matthew's life story is one of victory, not of battles lost. He faced each day with the heart of a lion, never allowing the shadows of life's challenges to dampen his resolve. His courage, optimism, and kindness were the cornerstones of his existence, and they are the gifts he has left for us to embrace. Each of us who were graced by his presence are now the custodians of his legacy, charged with the task of living our lives with the same fervor and passion that Matthew exemplified.
Let us celebrate Matthew Christian Stull, not with sorrow, but with the joy he would want us to feel. He showed us that every day is a chance to make a difference, to laugh, to love, and to leave the world a little better than we found it. Matthew may have taken his final bow, but the curtain never closes on a life well-lived. His story continues in the memories we share, in the love we spread, and in the courage, we muster to face our own horizons.
