Matthew Travis Tatar, affectionately known as Matt, was born on May 24, 1975, in Kettering, Ohio, and departed from this world unexpectedly on July 29, 2025. He is remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, and a faithful friend who touched the lives of many with his outstanding personality and kind spirit.

For nine wonderful years, Matt shared his life with his loving wife, Emily, whose companionship brought him immeasurable joy. Together, they navigated the journey of life, from mundane moments to cherished milestones, with an unwavering bond that inspired those around them. Matt took immense pride in being a father to his son, Joe (Madison) Boze, and reveled in the joys of grandfatherhood, forging delightful memories with his grandson, Calvin Boze, and his granddaughter, Liara Boze. His family was his greatest treasure, and he often expressed that being married to Emily was one of his proudest accomplishments, alongside the simple joy of acquiring his RYOBI lawn mower and embracing the role of a grandfather.

Matt's professional endeavors included valuable service at Bell Vault & Monument, as well as Snyder Brick & Block. He approached his work with the same dedication and commitment that characterized other aspects of his life, always striving to leave a positive impact on those he encountered.

A man of faith, Matt was actively involved in his church community, where he volunteered for numerous events. He embraced roles such as church greeter and participated in activities like vacation Bible school and Easter egg hunts, embodying the essence of kindness and service that he held dearly. His religious devotion shaped his character and guided his interactions, making him a beacon of light for many.

At home, Matt found comfort in the company of his beloved cats—Butters, Chessie, Shadow, and Gypsy—who provided him with endless companionship and warmth. Cooking alongside his granddaughter was another cherished pastime, where laughter and learning melded into unforgettable moments.

Matt's legacy extends beyond his immediate family, as he leaves behind his brother, John Tatar, and aunts, Evelyn Lortz and Jane Kramer, each of whom will carry fond memories of him in their hearts. He is also survived by his father, Andy Tatar, who, along with many other family and friends, will miss his loving spirit and gentle nature.

Though Matt has departed this life, he will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. His mother, Patricia Tatar, and his granny, Beaulah Luttrell, have welcomed him into eternal rest, and their reunion is a testament to the love that binds families together, transcending even the boundaries of life and death.

In celebrating the memory of Matt, we honor a man whose love knew no bounds, whose faith shone bright, and whose life was a beautiful tapestry woven with kindness, laughter, and steadfast devotion to family and friends.

Family and friends will gather to Celebrate Matt's Life at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Miami Shores Baptist Church, 4000 Vance Road in Moraine. Pastor Doug Surber to officiate.
