Matt, sorry I wasn´t there for you when you needed it. That´s what you did for everyone else, you would show up. That´s the best memory of you. Matt and I met at infantry squad leader school, then still kept up after we were both out. See you on the other side amigo, please behave in God´s house!

I was Matthew´s Company Gunnery Sergeant, during his first tour in Iraq (OIF 05-06). It was an Honor to Serve with and alongside Pfc/Cpl Zeimys, he was a young Marine at the time. I remember Matthew, he always had a story and was very animated in telling that story and he would make you laugh, as his laugh was contagious. He was a damn good Marine and he took what he did very serious and he did it very well, he was a Marine that was a very viable part of not only to his Fireteam /Squad but the whole Platoon and Company as well, a true dedicated Marine. Matthew, even after this young man experienced (2)
IEDs, while in his vehicle while on patrol during the Combat Deployment. Matthew never wavered, knowing another Patrol could have the same outcome, he needed and wanted to be with his Brothers and much as they wanted the same from him. Matthew will be greatly missed by his brothers of
Lima 3/5 (Havoc). My condolences to his family, we have lost an outstanding young man.
Thank you for your Honorable and Faithful Service to our Corps and Country. Rest in Peace Brother. Semper Fi.

I didn´t know him well. He came out to my pops farm to help me and my husband get the farm ready for our wedding. He was hardworking, kind and positive. Sorry for the loss of an American Sargent
