Mattie Louise Samples

Mattie “Louise” Samples, 80, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024. She was born on July 28, 1943, to the late Lewis and Sadie Freeman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Stanley Samples; brothers, Clyde Freeman, Mckenley William Freeman, and Nonnie Freeman.

Louise is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Danny Samples; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Brandy Samples; daughters and sons-in-law, Shakira and Jim Balliew, Sabrina and David Grogan; three step-children; sister-in-law, Iliene Freeman; grandchildren, Aspen Grogan, Trysten Frantzen, Alaska Grogan, Korbyn Frantzen, Nebraska Grogan, Sebastian Samples, Secillia Samples, Sadye Samples, Naomi Samples, Audrey Samples, Stanila Samples, Stantasia Samples, Stanleya Samples, Stanizza Samples, Promise Frantzen, and Moon Grogan; and three great-grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Dakota Grogan officiating. Burial will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers are Aspen Grogan, Trysten Frantzen, Alaska Grogan, Korbyn Frantzen, Nebraska Grogan, Sebastian Samples, and Scott Samples. Honorary pallbearers are Donnie Freeman and Anthony Freeman.
