Mattie Lee (Brown) Standberry was born on December 22, 1945 to Vernesia Eaton and T.L. Brown Sr. in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.
Mattie graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1964. She was a faithful member at Mt. Gilmore Baptist Church we're she served choir and helped on the hospitality team. Mattie worked in Home Health. She was a loving mother to her only daughter, Andrea and a loving grandmother to Roniesha, Roney, DaKeeven, Derrick and Quetin II.
She was preceded in death by her husband L.B. Standberry; her parents; two brothers T.L. Brown Jr.; three sisters Josephine Dudley, Arthur Mae Walker, Artice Johnson; uncle Clarence Eaton, brothers-in-law Marvin Dudley and Clyde Jones; special niece Rena Thomas.
She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Andrea Owens of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren Roney Owens II of Dallas, Texas, Roniesha Brown of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; great grandchildren DaKeeven Brown, Derrick Palmer, Quetin Hoskins, II; stepson Gregory Standberry of Arkansas; her siblings Georgia Adair and Linda Bell both of Dallas, Texas, Marvin Jeffery (Rhonda) of Hallsville, Texas, Beverly Curtis, Frances Brown and Ray Lee Brown all of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Sammie Richmond of Longview, Texas; sister-in-law Emma Jones, special cousin Martha Nance, all of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; special friends and family Eula D. Chambers, Alexia Nance, Lawrence (Butch) & Martha (Nell) Shepherd, Zareyah and Dezrae Webster.
