Mattie B. Vasser went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at Nazareth Health Home peacefully. She was born March 27, 1950 to Elenora Pearson and Joe Hayes, both from the State of Mississippi.
Mattie lived as a child in Mississippi, and later moved to Chicago where she remained as a teen until adult. Mattie then met and married Earnest Vasser Jr. and they later had two children from that marriage. As time passed the marriage dissolved and she decided to divorce. Mattie then moved to Madison, WI where she resided and enjoyed her life. She liked traveling, eating out at restaurants, cooking at home, talking with her kids and grandkids and her close family siblings. She loved reading her bible, watching her favorite TV programs, and smiling.
Mattie is survived by her children, Tequila Gipson and Earnest Vasser III; grandchildren, Courtney Gipson, Briana Gipson, Mattie Gipson, Kevin Gipson Jr., and Arindis and Cbias Vasser; siblings, Ray Hayes, George Hayes, Bertha Pearson; and a host of others. She is also survived by her ex-husband, Earnest Vasser Sr; and former brother-in-law, Robert Vasser. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elenora Pearson.
GOD’S GARDEN
God looked around His garden and He found an empty place. He then looked down upon this earth, and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb. So He closed your weary eyelids, and whispered “Peace be Thine.” It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
My mom simply enjoyed her life and inspired people everywhere she went and showed love and poured out love. My mom has left a huge impact behind, she will be truly loved and missed. I love you mom- KeeKee
