Maureen Moe Carragher, age 87, passed away peacefully at home on January 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late James Carragher Jr. with whom she shared 65 years of marriage with the love of her life.
Born in Lowell, MA on July 6, 1937, she was the daughter of the late William and Helen Shore. Maureen was a graduate of Lowell St. Patricks High School. She served as the President of the Jaycee-ettes Lowell Junior Chamber of Commerce. She also owned and operated 7Cs Ceramics with her husband for 27 years. After her retirement, she became a caregiver and chauffeur to her grandchildren. You would often find her cheering them on at sport games, in the audience of dance recitals or making them her famous cookies and whoopie pies. Her hobbies included crafting, sewing and making porcelain dolls. She spent countless hours watching the New England Patriots and Red Sox in their prime years with her husband by her side. She also enjoyed gambling trips to Mohegan Sun with her daughters and husband.
She is survived by her daughters Sandra Carragher of
Dracut, MA, Patricia Berthiaume and her husband Michael of Pelham, NH, Linda Fay and her fianc Stephen Torrice of Andover, MA, son-in-law Joseph Dailey of
Dracut, MA, and daughter-in-law Dee Carragher of Nashua, NH; her grandchildren Robin Marion and her husband Robert of Spencer, MA, Robert Burns and his wife Jennifer of Pelham, NH, Katie Ralls and her fianc Juan Bracetty of Pelham, NH, Edward Mulligan of New York, NY, Ryan McCluskey and his wife Kayla of Nashua, NH, Richard Couillard and his wife Kristen of
Dracut, MA, Kevin Mulligan of Salt Lake City, UT, Corey Couillard and his girlfriend Samantha Goodman of Peabody, MA; her great-grandchildren Kayla Marion, Jalen Bracetty, Samantha Marion, Ryan Bracetty, Brandon Marion, Olivia McCluskey, Isaac Wilson, Mason Burns, Jacob McCluskey, Adrianna Bracetty, Declan Couillard, Conor McCluskey; and her great-great grandsons Thomas Joseph (TJ) Mansfield and Bennett Rodrigues. Her sister-in-law Jonell Shore of Duncanville, TX and sister-in-law Ann Bedard of Lowell, MA and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is predeceased by her daughter, Debra Dailey (Ralls), and her son, James Carragher as well as her sister-in-law Catherine Carragher, brother-in-law Francis Carragher and wife Rhea, her mother-in-law and father-in-law James and Catherine (Rogerson) Carragher, her brother William Shore, and her brother Richard Shore, as well as her beloved dog, Bob.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Pelham Police, Fire and EMS for all their care and compassion for Maureen at home, along with Visiting Angels. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maureens honor in memory of her daughter, Debra to Lowell General Cancer Hospital Cancer Center, 295 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854 or to the
American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 in memory of her son, James.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 10am to 12pm at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut. Followed by a funeral home service at 12pm. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
