Maureen "Moe" Francis O'Connor Laucks 92, widow of William E Laucks, of Beaufort, South Carolina, died peacefully at home, with her daughter at her side, February 13, 2025. Maureen was born August 10, 1932 in Bridgeport, CT. She is the daughter of the late Dennis O'Connor and Florence Foley O' Connor. She was predeceased by her Brother, Robert E. O' Connor. Maureen was raised in Bridgeport, CT and graduated from Central High School. Maureen married her beloved Husband, Bill, on November 12, 1955. They settled in Stratford, CT and raised 4 children. The couple moved to Beaufort South Carolina in 2020. Maureen was a stay at home mom for 23 years, her husband and children were always in the best care. During financial difficulty Maureen, obtained her CNA License and went to work. This was a demonstration of her devotion, love and commitment, to her family, we never went without. Her lifetime friend and partner in crime, Mary Ann Wynne got her a job at the Carlton Convalescent Home, where she extended her love and care to her patients, for over 15 years. She went onto work at Chester Village West Adult Day Care Center until she retired at 72. Maureen served on her Highschool Reunion Committee, for fifty years, planning reunions right up to the 55th year of their graduation. Maureen was the family unifier and had a beautiful gift of Hospitality. She hosted Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings that were always memorable. She spent as much time as she could with her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She hosted cousins weekend every year, for her granddaughters, with the hope that they too would have lifetime family connections. Her Easter egg hunts weren't to shabby either. In her early years, she enjoyed bowling, the beach, paddle tennis and was an avid reader. Maureen and Bill had many loving friends and traveled extensively, with them over the years. Family gatherings were her all time favorite. Maureen is survived by her loving sister, Patricia A. O' Connor of Milford, CT. Her loving daughter, Patricia E Laucks, of Beaufort, South Carolina ; three sons, David W. Laucks (Donna), of Rhode Island, Brian Laucks (Mary) of Connecticut and Matthew Laucks (Tami) of North Carolina. Her beloved God Son, Kenneth "Kenny" Wynne (Belen) of Seattle, WA., Sister-in Law Elaine Wach (George) of Florida. Seven grandchildren and two great granddaughters, Summer and Hailey Laucks. Several Nieces and Nephews. especially, Catherine Hudzina (Mike) of Florida. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the many friends, neighbors, and caregivers who provided love, care and support to Ms. Maureen over the years, especially, Kristi Allen of Beaufort, SC, her caregiver, Kendra, from Dawson and Dawson Homecare LLC. and Agape Hospice. Maureen was a devout Catholic and enjoyed her weekly visits, from Deacon Beeler. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 10:30am at St. Peter's Catholic Church on Lady's Island a Christian Mass to follow at 11:30am with interment in Beaufort National Cemetery.
