Russell Dean Laucks

Russell Dean "Russ" Laucks, 70, of Lebanon, PA, died Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of Michele (Midlick) Laucks, to whom he was married for 37 years on August 8, 2024. Born in Lebanon, PA on September 4, 1954, he was a son of the late Louis and Marion (Hickernell) Laucks. A 1972 graduate of ELCO High School, he attended Penn State University and graduated from Lebanon Valley College with a degree in Business in 1986. Russ was employed as a Software Developer and Manager at Berry Global for 15 years, retiring in 2018. He had worked for many years in the plant at Wengert's Dairy before beginning his professional career. As a young adult, Russ was an officer in the Newmanstown Jaycees and later Millcreek Organization, and was involved in organizing many charitable activities for the community. He assisted in coaching many of his kids' activities including softball, baseball, soccer, and Odyssey of the Mind. He was an Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 415 of Cornwall, PA and was the leader of the Eagle Scout Program. Russ had earned the distinction of becoming an Eagle Scout, and shared this distinction along with his father, brother and son. In his retirement he enjoyed playing pickleball at the Lebanon Senior Center. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Erik Laucks, of Lebanon, PA; a daughter, Amanda Laucks, of Lebanon, PA; a sister, Cindy Buchter, of Stevens, PA; and a brother, Robert Laucks, of Lancaster, PA. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, PA, with the visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
