Maureen Louise Mickelson age 77 of McBain went home to be with her Lord at Autumnwood of McBain on May 8, 2025. Maureen was born on May 12, 1947 in Grand Rapids to Albert B. and Mary Janice (Monks) Hays.
Maureen was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Cadillac. She graduated from Cadillac High School. She enjoyed reading the Bible, playing the organ, downhill skiing, doing seamstress work and was an avid reader. She enjoyed her many relatives and friends.
Maureen is survived by her children; Christopher (Tracy) Mickelson of Cadillac, Terry (Tina) Mickelson of Cadillac and Brett (Joelle) Mickelson of British Columbia, daughter-in-law; Jennie Mickelson of Cadillac, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren, two brothers; Thomas (Lori) Hays of Argyle, Texas, and David Hays of Cadillac, five sisters; Patricia (John) Fossum of Traverse City, Elizabeth (Dale) Meyering of Bloomfield Hills, Deborah (Barry) Renker of Coronado, California, Melissa Talsma of Cadillac, and Phyllis Hays of Cadillac, and in-law; Keith Ball of Cadillac.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister; Cindy Ball, and son; Eric Mickelson.
Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Cadillac with Father Michael Janowski officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 14, at the Burkholder Family Funeral Home in McBain from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and one hour prior to services at the church. A luncheon will follow at the Church. Graveside services will take place at a later date in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cadillac. Thoughts and prayers may be left at www.burkholderfunerals.com
