Maureen O'Fallon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory - Manitowoc on Feb. 5, 2025.
Maureen M. O'Fallon, age 62, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life with family by her side on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay.
Maureen was born on October 1, 1962 in Manitowoc to the late Lloyd and Betty Jane (Gruber) Popp. She graduated from Valders High School with the class of 1980. Maureen began working as a bookkeeper at the Manitowoc County Heath Care Center and was employed there for 20 years. She then went on to work for another 20 years at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers as an Insurance Authorizer for the Rehab Department from where she retired. On May 28, 1994, Maureen married Sean O'Fallon at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Alverno. She enjoyed spending her time beading, calligraphy, reading, playing cribbage and mahjong, taking weekend trips with her girlfriends, and logging the occasional hour or two on her iPad. Maureen also had a special place in her heart for animals – there was hardly ever a point in time that she did not have a dog or cat by her side. Above all, she enjoyed spending her time being with her family and friends.
Survivors include Maureen's husband of 30 years, Sean; daughter, Emily O'Fallon; a special niece that was like a daughter to Maureen, Hallie (Jason) Steinberg, and their son, Lloyd John; three siblings, Mike (Jean) Popp, Jeanne (Lee) Matthias, and Mary Popp and her special friend, Joseph Horsketter; sister-in-law, Debbie Popp; beloved dog, Benny; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Maureen was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Betty Popp; daughter, Katie Lynn; two brothers, Danny and Gerry Popp; and two beloved dogs, Sunny and Poquita.
Funeral services will be held at Noon on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 8100 Brunner Road, Newton. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. David Beaudry with burial to follow at a later date at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The visitation will continue on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at Noon. My deepest sympathy in Maureen's passing. She was kindest sweetest person and it was a pleasure working with Maureen and you Sean at the Health Care Center. I know she had her physical struggles but was always postive and cheerful. She has gone too soon but not forgotten. God Bless you and your family at this difficult time. Nanette Wittmus
