Maurice "Gene" Kelbaugh, Sr. Obituary
Maurice "Gene" Kelbaugh, Sr., 81, peacefully passed away on April 26, 2024 at home with his family by his side. He is the son of the late Maurice Kelbaugh and Margaret Ewing.
Gene served as a custodian in the Caroline County Public Schools. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, bowling, dancing, and listening to music of the 50s and 60s. Elvis was one of his favorite artists. Gene loved get-togethers and cookouts with family and friends where his jokes and quick-witted responses were displayed. He was a child at heart when it came to playing with the grandkids and great grandkids. Gene was known for many phrases to include: "Love you hun", "that's my girl" in reference to Natalie, "Cookie's a pretty girl", "blow my nose", and "coffee". He will be dearly missed.
Gene is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Natalie Kelbaugh; son, Mark Kelbaugh, Jr and wife Debbie; daughter, Christina McNatt and husband, Greg; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; dog, Cookie, and extended family.
Services will held on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 12:00 PM, at the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Hwy. Harrington, DE 19952. A viewing will be held one hour prior beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will immediately follow the service at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington, DE.
