Maurice LeBlanc

Maurice LeBlanc, 88, of Midwest City, OK departed this life on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 9:49 a.m. Maurice was born on September 14, 1936 in Napoleonville, LA. He served 3 years in the Army before attending Nicholas State University, where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics. Maurice moved to Oklahoma in 1962 and obtained a Master's degree in Public Administration from OU. He worked at Tinker AFB for 26 years. Sixteen of those years were in the Propulsion Division where he served as Production Branch Chief and Deputy Division Chief. He held fond memories of this tour of duty, and all of the great people who worked for him. Maurice served as Deputy Director of Maintenance at Tinker before departing in 1988 to serve as Director of Propulsion at the San Antonio Air Logistics Center. After retirement in 1993, Maurice enjoyed spending time at his cabin at Lake Eufaula with his family and visitors, yearly get-togethers with his brothers and sisters, playing poker and fishing with his friends, and playing spades with his family.

Maurice is the last living individual who had an artificial bladder transplant following bladder cancer in 1998, being held as a medical miracle surviving over 28 years with the neobladder.

Maurice is preceded in death by his parents, Maurice LeBlanc and Hattie Coleman LeBlanc, and his 11 brothers and sisters, Phil, Hattie, Mabel, Eddie, Pearl, Eileen, Ruby, Art, Inez, Charles, and Ann.

Maurice is survived by his beloved wife, Janett, of the home, his loving sons, Jody and Jeff, his daughter-in-laws Cheryl and Donna, his three grandchildren, Tara, Kayla and Dalton and their spouses, and his six great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Kolton, Dawsyn, Corbyn, Merritt and Lilah.

A memorial service for Maurice will be held on Sunday, August 17th, 2025 at 2 p.m. at the Barnes-Friederich Funeral Home in Midwest City.
