Mauro G. Sanchez, 77, of Scottsdale, AZ, formerly of Chicago, IL. Loving father of Dr. Mario (Tatum) Sanchez, Rigoberto (Noemi) Sanchez, and Vanessa (Charles) Campbell. Dear grandfather of Maeli, Lia, Ameli, Miles, Kiana, Paul, Issaiah, Charles III and Ezekiel. Great Grandfather of Leilani, Paul III, Lorenzo, Ariani and Adalin. Brother to María Trinidad, Maria Teresa, Roberto, Dolores and the late Josefa, Julia, Maria De Jesús, Francisco, Margarito. Uncle to many wonderful nieces, nephews and extended family members. Adored son of the late Francisco and Maria Dolores (née Gil) Sanchez. Born April 12, 1945 in Sahuayo, Michoacán, Mexico.
Although Mauro was born and raised in Mexico, he spent most of his life in the great City of Chicago. Mauro was raised in Mexico until he was a young adult and then moved to the Chicago area as a young man working in the construction industry. Mauro found his former wife, Julia, of nearly 40 years on his visits back to Mexico while visiting family. Together they both started and raised their family in Chicago. Mauro was a devoted father and instilled a hard work ethic on his children and those around him. Mauro was a proud Union carpenter for nearly 40 years where he constructed many magnificent structures and where he helped many others start their careers.
They eventually moved out to the suburb, Marengo, once all the children were out of the house to enjoy a quieter and slower paced life with a lot more land. Mauro stayed busy tending to his property as he loved working outdoors. Mauro was a devoted Catholic and his faith was a significant part of how he lived and led his life. Mauro eventually retired in Scottsdale after many visits and trips around the country and where he passed peacefully and surrounded by family. Mauro will be remembered with much love by all of his family and friends and will be greatly missed. May you now rest in peace, Dad!
