Mary Maxine (Hunt) Floyd, 96, of Plainville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at her residence. She was born on April 14, 1928 to the late William Paul Sr. and Josie Ann Smith Hunt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bradwell H. “Buddy” Floyd; brothers, Ralph Hunt, Sam (Louise) Hunt, W.P. (Doris) Hunt Jr., Lee (Julia Lou) Hunt; sisters, Geneva (Olen) Hunt McAfee, Idelle (C.L.) Hunt Rutledge; brother-in-law, Walter Hammond.
Maxine is survived by her children, Stephen (Deborah) Floyd and Sherry Floyd Lusk; sister, Sara Elizabeth Hunt Hammond; grandchildren, Stacy (David) Floyd Phillips, Zachary Lusk, Deni Pate, Brad (Brandi) Long; great-grandchildren, Braxton Lusk, Macy Rumer Lusk, Shaylee Phillips, Will Pate, Drew Pate, Hannah Ross, Erica Arrington, Ashley Long, Alex Long; a number of great-great grandchildren; nieces; and nephews. She is also survived by very special family that are friends and friends that are family, Melba Nicholson, Joyce Brown, Jordan Roberts, and Toot Rutledge.
A viewing will be held for family and close friends on Friday, August 23, 2024, from 12:30 PM until 2:30 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
A public graveside service will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 3:00 PM from Salmon Cemetery. Pallbearers are Bo Nicholson, David Hall, Brad Long, Braxton Lusk, Hunt Hammond, and Matt Brannon. Honorary pallbearers are Melba Nicholson, Jordan Roberts, Lynn Rutledge, Melanie Black, Bronwyn “Toot” Rutledge, Ray Black, Tabitha Robbins.
